Introduction

Creating and editing pages is easy and fun with WordPress. In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the process of creating a new page in WordPress, and then we’ll show you how to edit its title, add content to it, preview what it looks like on the front-end of your site, and publish your changes so they’re live!

Create a new page

To create a new page, click on the Pages button in the left-hand menu. This will open a list of all your existing pages. Click Add New to view the full screen for adding content.

Now you can fill out your title and content by typing directly into the text box or clicking on one of the many buttons that appear when hovering over it with your mouse cursor (e.g.,

, , [image], etc.).

When you’re finished with writing, click Publish to save your changes and make it live!

Edit the page title

The title of your page is what will appear in the navigation bar, so it’s important to make sure it’s descriptive but concise. For example:

Just like with posts, you can change a page’s title at any time by clicking on the pencil icon next to it and editing it there.

Add content to your page using the visual editor

To add content to your page, click the visual editor icon in the upper right corner of your screen. The visual editor will appear, and you can begin adding text, images and other content to your page. You can also use the visual editor to change the formatting of your content.

Preview and publish your page

Once you’ve finished editing, click the blue Publish button at the top of your page. This will take you back to WordPress’s Dashboard, where you can see that your page has now been published. You can also preview what it looks like by clicking on the Preview link just above where it says No Comments (which means no one has commented on this post yet). If you want to make more changes before publishing (or if someone else has already commented), click on Edit instead of Publish and continue editing!

View your new page on the front-end of your site.

To view your new page, go to the front-end of your site in your browser and click on “Pages” in the left sidebar. You should see a list of all of your pages that have been created. Click on one of them to load it into a separate window. If you don’t see any pages listed, it may be because some plugins are interfering with how they’re loaded by WordPress and need to be disabled or reconfigured before you can see them.

Once you’ve clicked on one of them, it loads into its own window with an editor box at the top where you can make changes in real time before publishing those changes to your website (or not).

Conclusion

With the tips and tricks we’ve covered in this article, you should be well on your way to creating and editing pages using WordPress. We hope you found it helpful! If not, no worries—we have plenty of other tutorials available for learning about blogging with WordPress.
