JetBackup Backup & Recovery

Backup Protection Built for When Things Go Wrong.

Managed cPanel hosting from Fusion Arc Hosting includes three rotating days of compressed offsite backups for disaster recovery. Customers who need more precise recovery can add JetBackup incremental backups with granular file and folder restoration.

A Recovery Layer, Not an Afterthought

Your Hosting Infrastructure Needs a Way Back.

Hardware can fail. Websites can break during updates. Files can be deleted. Plugins can malfunction. Malware can damage an application. Even an experienced administrator can eventually make a change they would very much like to un-make.

That is why Fusion Arc Hosting maintains an offsite backup layer for supported managed cPanel hosting services. Instead of relying entirely on the live copy of an account, eligible accounts can have recent recovery points available when a serious problem occurs.

We offer two different approaches because disaster recovery and granular day-to-day recovery are not the same workload.

Recover from infrastructure problems Restore an eligible cPanel account from an offsite recovery point after a serious hosting-side event.
Recover from website mistakes Optional incremental backups make smaller, more targeted recovery jobs dramatically easier.
Keep copies outside the production server Offsite storage provides separation from the server currently hosting the live account.
Combine prevention with recovery Imunify360 protects the live environment while JetBackup provides another recovery path when needed.
Two Levels of Recovery

Choose the Recovery Model Your Workload Actually Needs.

All backups are not interchangeable. Our included compressed backups prioritize disaster recovery, while optional incremental backups are designed for customers who want much more precise restore control.

Included by Default

3-Day Compressed Offsite Disaster Recovery

Eligible managed cPanel hosting accounts receive a rolling set of up to three recent compressed backup restore points stored at an offsite datacenter.

These backups are primarily designed for full-account disaster recovery. When restored, the cPanel account is returned to the state represented by the selected backup date.

  • Included with eligible managed cPanel plans
  • Up to three rotating daily restore points
  • Backup data stored at an offsite datacenter
  • Designed for complete cPanel account recovery
  • Useful after major account or server-level problems
  • No separate incremental-backup add-on required
  • Not designed for convenient individual-file restores
  • A restore can roll the entire cPanel account back to the selected recovery point
Think of this as the emergency recovery layer.

It is highly useful when an entire account needs to be recovered, but unnecessarily broad when the only problem is one deleted file or one damaged folder.

Optional Upgrade

3-Day JetBackup Incremental Recovery

Customers on eligible fully managed cPanel/WHM plans can request an optional incremental JetBackup service for more precise recovery capabilities.

Instead of treating every recovery as a complete account rollback, incremental backups make it possible to work at a much more granular level and select the data that actually needs to be recovered.

  • Available for eligible fully managed cPanel/WHM plans
  • Up to three rotating daily restore points
  • Select individual folders for recovery
  • Select specific files down to the filename
  • Restore only the affected data when appropriate
  • Avoid unnecessary full-account rollbacks
  • Excellent for frequently updated websites
  • Especially useful for WordPress management
Pricing depends on the hosting environment.

Side-by-Side

Disaster Recovery vs. Granular Recovery.

The included service gives eligible customers a recovery safety net. The incremental service adds the precision administrators, agencies and active websites often need.

Rolling Recovery Window

Three Recent Restore Points, Continuously Cycling.

The backup window follows a rolling three-day model. As a new successful backup is created, the oldest restore point eventually cycles out of the available recovery window.

Backup Created

JetBackup processes the eligible account according to its configured backup schedule.

Stored Offsite

Recovery data is maintained separately from the production hosting server.

Recent Points Remain

Up to the previous three daily restore points remain available according to successful backup completion.

Oldest Point Cycles Out

As newer recovery points are created, older points leave the three-day retention window.

The three-day window is intentionally short-term.

If you need long-term archives, compliance retention, permanent historical versions or backups that must remain available for weeks or months, maintain an independent backup system appropriate for that requirement.

Built for Real Website Problems

Especially Useful for WordPress Recovery.

WordPress is powerful because nearly everything can be changed. Coincidentally, that is also how administrators occasionally turn a perfectly functional site into a white screen at 1:17 in the morning.

Plugin Update Breaks the Site

If a plugin update damages files or creates a conflict, incremental recovery can allow affected files or folders to be returned to an earlier restore point without automatically rolling back everything else.

Theme Files Are Overwritten

Accidentally changed a theme template, custom code file or child-theme directory? Granular backups can make targeted restoration substantially cleaner.

Uploads Are Deleted

Recovering a specific file or media folder is a much better fit for incremental restoration than replacing an entire cPanel account.

A Deployment Goes Sideways

Developers testing changes, migrations or new releases gain another short-term recovery point when production changes do not behave as expected.

Malware Damages Website Files

Imunify360 can help detect and remediate malicious activity while a known recovery point may help recover damaged content when restoration is appropriate.

The Entire Account Needs Recovery

When the problem is much larger than WordPress itself, the standard compressed disaster-recovery backup can provide a route back to an earlier full-account state.

Full-account restores affect more than WordPress.

Because the included compressed backup is intended for complete cPanel recovery, restoring an older account state can also roll back other data associated with that account. This is one reason granular incremental recovery is valuable for active production environments.

Security + Recovery

JetBackup and Imunify360 Solve Different Problems.

Fusion Arc Hosting combines active server security with recoverability. Imunify360 works to detect, block and remediate threats in the live hosting environment. JetBackup provides recovery points when data needs to be returned to an earlier state.

1. Prevent

Imunify360 provides multiple layers of protection designed to stop malicious traffic and attacks before they damage hosted applications.

2. Detect & Clean

Malware scanning, web application security and automated remediation capabilities help identify and address compromised website content.

3. Recover

JetBackup adds another route to recovery when files, folders or an eligible cPanel account need to be restored from an earlier point.

A backup is not automatically a clean backup.

A restore point created after a website was already compromised can contain compromised data. Restored websites may therefore require security scanning, credential changes, software updates or additional remediation after recovery.

Which One Do You Need?

The Right Backup Depends on How Painful a Rollback Would Be.

A mostly static brochure website and a frequently changing WordPress store do not have identical recovery requirements. Revolutionary insight, apparently.

The included compressed backups are a strong fit when the main objective is having a recent full-account disaster recovery option.

Incremental backups become more valuable as the account becomes more active, more complicated or more sensitive to having unrelated data rolled backward.

Personal website or simple business site The included disaster-recovery layer may be sufficient alongside your own independent copies.
Actively maintained WordPress site Incremental recovery provides much better precision when themes, plugins and files change frequently.
WooCommerce or frequently changing content Avoiding an unnecessary account-wide rollback can become increasingly important as activity increases.
Agency or multi-site administrator File-level recovery can save substantial time when the problem is limited to one part of an account.
Important Backup Policy

Backups Are a Recovery Service, Not Unlimited Archival Storage.

We want backup expectations stated before something goes wrong, rather than discovering the fine print during an emergency. A concept the hosting industry could perhaps experiment with more often.

Backup Eligibility & Successful Completion

Backup availability depends on successful backup jobs and account eligibility. A restore point cannot be created when a backup job does not complete successfully.

  • Backup jobs are subject to technical availability and successful completion.
  • Available restore points may vary if a scheduled backup fails.
  • The retention window represents available successful recovery points, not a guarantee that every calendar day will always contain a usable restore.

Storage Abuse & Terms of Service

Accounts using hosting storage in violation of our Terms of Service or otherwise abusing storage resources may be excluded from backup processing.

  • Hosting accounts are not intended to be used as unrestricted backup or archival repositories.
  • Excessive or prohibited storage usage may prevent normal backup operation.
  • Accounts violating applicable storage policies may be excluded from backups until the issue is resolved.
Maintain backups you control.

Fusion Arc Hosting's backup systems should be treated as an additional recovery layer, not the only copy of irreplaceable business data. Customers with critical data, regulatory requirements or long-term retention requirements should maintain independent backups under their own control.

Backup & Recovery FAQ

Common JetBackup Questions.

The useful questions to answer now, rather than while a production website is displaying an error page to customers.

How many backup restore points are included?

Eligible managed cPanel hosting accounts receive up to three rotating recent daily restore points. As newer backups are successfully created, older recovery points cycle out of the three-day window.

Are the included backups stored on the same server?

No. The standard disaster-recovery backups are sent to offsite infrastructure so the recovery data is separated from the production hosting server.

Can I restore one file from the included compressed backup?

The included compressed backup service is designed primarily for complete cPanel account disaster recovery, not convenient file-by-file restoration. If granular recovery is important, ask Sales about our optional JetBackup incremental backup service.

What happens during a full compressed backup restore?

The cPanel account is restored to the state represented by the selected backup point. Because this is an account-level recovery operation, data created or modified after that backup point may be rolled back.

What does the incremental backup option add?

The incremental option provides much more precise recovery. Depending on the enabled recovery scope, customers can select specific directories or individual files down to the filename from available restore points instead of automatically restoring the entire account.

How much do incremental JetBackup backups cost?

Pricing varies based on the eligible fully managed cPanel/WHM plan and its backup requirements. Submit a Sales ticket and we can provide pricing for the specific hosting environment.

Are backups useful for WordPress websites?

Very much so. Backups can help recover from failed plugin or theme updates, deleted files, accidental code changes, damaged uploads and other website problems. Incremental recovery is particularly useful because a small mistake does not necessarily require a complete cPanel rollback.

Does JetBackup replace Imunify360?

No. They serve different purposes. Imunify360 is part of the active security layer protecting the live hosting environment. JetBackup focuses on maintaining recovery points. Security and recoverability complement each other rather than replace each other.

Does restoring a backup guarantee malware is removed?

No. If malware existed when a backup was created, that restore point may contain the same compromised data. Security scanning and remediation may still be required after restoration.

Can a hosting account be excluded from backups?

Yes. Accounts may be excluded when their storage usage violates applicable Fusion Arc Hosting Terms of Service or storage policies, or when technical conditions prevent a successful backup from being completed.

Should I still maintain my own backups?

Yes, especially for business-critical or irreplaceable data. Our backup system provides an additional recovery layer, but independent customer-controlled backups are recommended when data retention is important.
